The Striped Parker Duofold 1941 - 1946

During the late 30’s, Parker’s flagship was the Vacumatic pen launched at the beginning of that decade, in a way replacing the classic Duofold line which overlapped chronologically.

The “Toothbrush” patterned Duofold Geometric which was introduced in 1939 as a cheaper line of pens, was replaced in 1941 by the “striped” Duofolds.

Parker pruduced three different models, including a big “Senior” model with either one or three narrow cap bands, the smaller “Junior” (different cap band styles) and the Lady with two cap bands.

While the Junior and the Lady had simple “non” arrow clips, engraved “Parker”, the Senior came with a blue Diamond clip, similar to the Vacumatic clips.

Both “button filler” and “aluminium vacumatic filler” were made. The button filler pens were made out of opaque plastic, while the vacumatic Duofolds had transparent instead of black stripes, so the ink level could be checked.

This pen seems to be somewhat underrated, because the classic Parkers are either the original Duofold pens or the Vacumatic pens, but the striped Duofold’s are quite nice pens (especially of course the Senior model), due to the nice line of colors that were offered.
