THINK

Somebody sat down and had a powerful think about creating a full size fountain pen and roller ball. Starting with a selection of gorgeous resin materials, a streamline yet traditional vintage design, using high quality metal trim and a reliable ink delivery system all rolled into a package with irresistible retail pricing. The look is modern yet has the handsome clean appearance of vintage 1930s.

…and the thought became THINK

THINK

Full size yet not oversize…a fit for almost every hand at 5 ½” length capped for both fountain pen and roller ball. With the cap posted 6 ½” for the fountain pen and 6 ¼” length for the roller ball. The barrel is comfortable and solid at 1/2” girth with the cap at 5/8” girth. For a hefty size pen this is light weight in the hand at under 1 ounce for either instrument. You will not find any excuse for writing fatigue with THINK

Here are some minor details that that have become major issues with some pens. The barrel threading has a very shallow step to the section which is almost without notice. This makes for a very smooth finger tip touch on the section or very light thread touch on the thread at top of barrel.
It also appears that the threading has 5 gates, that is, grooves where the threading starts on the barrel. This allows for a faster cap threading and also a choice of cap alignment. A very minor point, but for those who handle many pens, you will notice that the edges of the threads are square cut. This means no sharp raised edge, it is flat with deep thread grooves for a positive and secure closure of cap to the barrel. This means you will not have a cap coming loose in your pocket or find a cap clipped to your pocket with your beloved pen gone.

The strength of THINK is not only the design and hardware, but also the selection of colors and patterns. Not only are there twelve color patterns in brilliant resin but the unique patterns and stripes actually match from cap to barrel on most of the patterns. The colors and patterns are a step better with a new invention of stripes, hues and textures of color. The ever popular faux hard rubber wood grain appearance of Redwood is a favorite and will always endure along with the beautiful crushed ice of Foundation. The Flagstone has a subtle vertical grey stripe pattern on creamy white similar to the Café Au Lait, which actually appears like a natural stone. Northern Lights is really a mystery color, appropriately named with brilliant flashes of deep hidden purples that flash in the light but also has a subtle base of deep greens. The other colors have to be seen to be appreciated. I can say that each is original and unique in either vertical or horizontal stripe patterns quite unlike anything seen before.

Remember the 5 gate threading? Here is where you have the choice to play with your pen to align an exact pattern of choice with the vertical stripe pattern designs. Truly a minor nuance among pen collectors however, when a pen has multiple thread gates for the screw on cap we truly appreciate the option of choosing cap to barrel alignment.

I also see that someone actually gave serious thought to minor details that become our quirks.
The humble cap clip, often the weakest link even with a great pen can prove a disaster when it may loose its grip and disappear. This clip is rock solid with a spring band from behind the clip screw secured inside the cap top. The cap is also stepped inside to form a step where the section meets the section to serve the same purpose as an inner cap. When the cap is screwed down this serves as a safety seal for both the fountain pen and the roller ball preventing the nib from drying out allowing instant writing at any time.

The heart of any pen is the ink delivery system.

THINK is fitted with a quality Schmidt steel nib that is generously tipped with iridium in Medium size only. The filler is a short removable piston converter approximately the same size as international cartridges. The roller balls are also Schmidt with a variety of steel or ceramic roller ball sizes available from various refill sources.
