I stumbled onto Pentrace in 2004. I've been visiting there ever since, although I post infrequently because of my lack of pen knowledge. I started using fountain pens in fifth grade (NYC) because I didn't have to mash hard on them to write (a permanently bent fingernail is my legacy from bad ballpoints). I stopped using FP for a long time, when working in biology and chemistry labs, because I didn't want to contaminate them with anything. I'm glad to be back using them now. Born & raised in the Bronx; I've also lived in Western Massachusetts and California (the East SF Bay Area ). We (husband and two children) just moved and are in northern Virginia for the next two years. I'm slowly learning more about FP and enjoy exchanges I've had with other PT'ers -- when I overcome feeling pen-ignorant enough to emerge from lurking, that is. Folks here have been very helpful and friendly, and I've gotten some wonderful pens here. Best wishes to all.
