orn in the greater Detroit, Michigan area many years ago and revel in the supposed wisdom these few gray hairs are suppose to reveal. I've had the good fortune to travel a bit to bits of Sweden, England, Italy, China and New Zealand. I am married to an artist and currently work as a Prof of Engineering at Wash. State Univ. I mainly deal with materials science. I started writing with a fountain pen when I started to learn my ABCs. I've been using fountain pens on and off for the last 58+ years but only recently discovered the whole world of other folks who feel as I do. I just came back from my first pen show. I enjoy that special delight that comes with laying down a fine, wet line of ink. I collect pens to the point that I have more than just a few, limiting my pens to those that I can use on a regular basis. I have both new and vintage pens, delighting the the smoothness of a Namiki Falcon and the balance and feel of a mid '20s Duofold.
Other interests: I am doing a lot of finish work on our home and do enjoy woodworking.
