I'm from Southeastern Kentucky, land of the coalmines. After I got educated I spent a career in the U.S. Army. Old soldiers don't just fade away; they go to work for defense industry. I spent another career with the Lockheed Martin Corporation. The one thing that was constant during my working life was the use of fountain pens. I started using a fountain pen in the third grade; Harry Truman was President back then.
I don't think I've ever met a fountain pen I didn't like and have an assortment of both modern and vintage. I've done a few repairs on lever fillers and button fillers and admire those who can actually repair a Vacumatic.
Now I'm retired and live with my wife, The Italian babe, on a small ranch in Northern Texas. We have Peruvian Paso horses, llamas, alpacas, cats, dogs, all in all a pretty nice zoo! I attend a few pen shows and one of my great enjoyments is being on the Snail List.
