Paul Bankston
Biography # 259 email: paulb@mscs.mu.edu

Well, it's been six (count 'em) years since my last biographical posting, and the big bits are essentially the same. I'm still trying to learn Welsh, but I've added Tibetan because of being a card-carrying buddhist now. (I'm just a sucker for exotic languages. It's not that I've mastered Welsh and can just "move on." )

My pen collecting is very slow these years because I want to savor the ones I already have. I did buy a Sheaffor Royal Selangor with a stub nib recently, though, because I wanted to be able to do Tibetan calligraphy. (As good an excuse as any, I suppose.) Also I finally bought a Lamy 2000 FP to commemmorate the turn of the (latest) millennium. I've never really been attracted to Bauhaus-style design, so that was a bit of a stretch. But the pen writes so nicely, I find myself warming to its shameless minimalism.
